After I completed the preliminary component design in Touchdesigner, I found that all the control logic of Touchdesigner needs to be designed by us to match our needs. I conducted this group meeting, about the overall interaction requirements and the refinement of the interaction details. In particular, the way we complete the puzzle element we set in the process, which is to hide the substance inside the cube, and reveal it at the end as a prominent narrative closing part that carries the interpretive function. This kind of change made me incredibly careful when designing the entire process, trying to keep all the parts as possible as possible to be re-edited and inserted. But there are still a lot of interaction details to confirm, as well as physical device design details to consider. So, we further discussed some dimensions of the actual installation of the device and some solutions for the installation of the projection screen. Combining the various components we investigated before, we drew the initial design draft (we made huge modifications to it in the actual production and installation later).
In the early design drafts, we had begun to introduce a guiding method that we have brainstormed for a long time, namely light-based attention guiding. Through the sensitivity of human eyes to light and the characteristics of attention in the dark room, we plan to use the transfer of light to achieve the process of “hiding” the mystery and solving the content. Although there have been many changes since this program, the core has always been the guidance of the audience’s attention.
