After several tests and cost measurement, we selected polyester-cotton as our projection plane. The white polyester cotton has good reflection effect, but also has a certain degree of light transmittance, which makes it can be used for both front and rear projection. And polyester-cotton fabrics are used in daily fabrics, we can easily obtain super-sized polyester-cotton fabrics at extremely low prices, instead of paying soaring prices to buy “professional” projection screens. Because we expect the projected area will exceed four hundred inches, this is an oversized size that professional screens rarely produce, or even do not produce. We will pay an unaffordable custom price if we use professional nylon fibre curtains.
In addition, we discussed with Philip how to deal with the wavy lines and stretches that appear in the fabric suspension. He said that we can use a variety of methods to stretch the fabric, including but not limited to nail gun fixing, self-designed spring tensioning device Wait. In this regard, we have a number of different solutions, which will also be one of our next design and testing tasks. This is related to the quality of the projection effect.
